Willow Park Antique Rocking Horses is home to some really lovely old mainly British rocking horses that reside here in Sydney, Australia.  

Reputable rocking horse enthusiasts are focussed on expanding the collective historical knowledge about the art and it's this collaboration with some like-minded enthusiasts  that brings most of us just as much joy as seeing the lovely old carved horses themselves. 

Since my interest began, one clear observation has been that rocking horse restoration & making has become a fairly rare skill set, largely due to the introduction of new technologies capturing the imagination of younger generations and the market for toys that are cheaper to produce.  This is just one of the many professions facing shortage of trade skills today.  The skills for building horse carriages and the associated high end leather carriage harness for real horses are thought to be as scarce.
